ワースト10には，90年代後半のバブル時に実施された買収が目立つ。最近の大きな流れとしては，買収側がYahooやGoogleなどの大手ネット企業だけではなくて，伝統的なメディア企業も買収に加わってきていることだ。ベストランキングでも，トップにNews Corp.のMySpace買収を，2位にNew York Times のAbout.com 買収を選んでいた。大手メディア企業のオンラインシフトが急がれているだけに，メディア企業によるネットベンチャーの買収が盛んになりそう。
